The Upper Shore Network of American Job Centers serves Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot Counties. You are welcome to visit any of our five locations to get started - no appointment needed.
Training programs are available in healthcare, truck driving, computers, manufacturing, and many other areas.

Training Scholarships are available to help you qualify for the job you want!
Please note:

Funding for training is contingent upon the availability of grant funds, an individual's eligibility, and completion of the USWIB process.
-
Training must lead to an entry-level job or higher in a career field that is in-demand in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, and Talbot County. Individuals will be asked to show demand during the process.

Please note that funding for training is based an individual's eligibility and the availability of funds.
EXPECTATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Scholarship funding is for the cost of tuition and fees but may also cover the costs of books, test fees, and any other course materials.
BEFORE TRAINING

Recipients are required to complete the USWIB process, including the Intake Process with all required documentation. The Career Conversation will include a discussion in which the applicant must demonstrate a demand for the training in the five-county area.

Documentation must be provided or completed as requested by USWIB staff.

Any portion of the tuition and fees not covered by scholarships or other sources of financial assistance must be paid by the recipient.

If applying for a credit course/program, applicants will need to apply for PELL grants.
DURING TRAINING

All requirements of the program or training must be met by the recipient.

Recipients are expected to complete and successfully pass the program or training. Recipients who do not complete or pass the program will not be eligible for future scholarship assistance.

USWIB staff will contact recipients throughout the training period regarding their progress in the training or program.
FOLLOWING TRAINING

Copies of training credentials, certifications, and certificates of completion must be provided to the USWIB upon completion of the training.

Recipients are required to provide information regarding employment, career changes, and/or wages as a result of the training received.

Recipients may be asked to complete a testimonial about their experience with the program.
